Holburne Museum - Folded Beauty - castle
This design replicates a castle presented at a banquet in sixteenth-century Padua. The original was provided with a garrison of live birds and little rabbits wearing coral necklaces. At the start of the festivities the castle gates were opened to let out the animals - presumably to the delight of the guests.
At the Holburne Museum in Bath, an exhibition by Joan Sallas recreating the art of napkin folding as practised in the renaissance and baroque.
