Bristol - Environment Agency headquarters

On the roof of the Environment Agency's new headquarters, visited as part of Bristol Doors Open 2011. The guide explained that since moving into the building, the Environment Agency had had problems with seagulls picking up pebbles from the narrow band at the edge of the roof, perching on the parapet and dropping them over the edge onto the pavement below. It was thought this was because the gulls mistook the pebbles for the eggs of competitors.

Now there are pigeon spikes on the outer edge of the parapet and wire netting over the pebbles.
