Palais over the Fountain of Warsaw
The Palais of Chaillot was designed for l'Exposition Internationale in 1937. The building, of classicizing "moderne" style, was designed by Louis-Hippolyte Boileau (1878–1948), Jacques Carlu (1890-1976) and Léon Azéma (1888-1978). The palais comprises of two independent wings; it was built ontop of the Palais du Trocadéro, built for the 1878 World Fair.
Like the Palais de Chaillot, the Trocadero Gardens (Jardins du Trocadéro) were also created for l'Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne. They were designed by Roger-Henri Expert (1882–1955). Also like the palais, the gardens were created over its 1878 predecessor.
