Omaha beach
Last September and part of October I traveled through Normandy and Brittany, mostly along the coastal areas and that meant a lot of beaches, capes and cliffs. It also meant visiting the D-Day beaches, and some war memorials, although most of it I skipped. I have seen enough about WWII during my life.
This is Omaha beach, during the invasion this turned out to be the most difficult beach to conquer, and 2000-3000 American soldiers lost their life on the first day of the invasion.
