It happened. I finally caved and we dropped a grand on a new swamp cooler setup. This beast of a swamp which puts out 4500 CFM draws a mere 400W. That is only a 1/3 of what a small unit AC will draw and this covers 4x the space as a small AC. It took a full day to pickup and install the swamp with a hired friend doing most of the work. We have a second day left for getting a custom fabricated ducting. It's strange to install one of these so late in the summer, but within a hour of turning it on I saw the indoor temperature drop from 92F to 72F.
