"The Road"

I haven't uploaded anything for this film yet, so now I have. This movie will be a visually gutwrenching movie. Directed by John Hillcoat, director of The Proposition, and shot by Javier Aguirresarobe, who has shot some of Pedro Almodovar's films. Other than Vicky Cristina Barcelona, this is his first, shot American movie; you could technically say this is his first major film too. Hillcoat has always chosen foreign cinematographers; he choose Benoit Delhomme for The Proposition, who did many foreign films until just recently.

This film, other than the story, will succeed in its neccessity to capture the environment. Hillcoat is a very visual director, and I'm supposing Aguirresarobe is a very good cinematographer; just by looking at the trailer and these shots here I can tell the landscape, beautifully and ingeniously described by Cormac McCarthy, is captured perfectly.

I love this shot because everything is illuminated by the fires, and you can really see the main characteristic of the landscape: the cloudy, gray sky.
