More Arriva London you say? Well look at this, it’s a VLA! Derby is clearly where it’s at for the sheer variety of B7TLs on their school buses; ALXs originating from Dublin, First AND Arriva, plus Geminis too! What’s not to like?!
Former VLA32 is seen here passing the Arriva depot on Ascot Drive. After its regular London service was over this ALX400 passed to (the rather oddly named) 1st Bus Stop, where it was registered BU02 TOP, but Harpur’s clearly have a nose for these ex-Arriva B7TLs and bought it a year or two back.
Although I don’t think Arriva ever ran ex-London VLAs from here, seeing this outside the gates still gives that feeling of satisfaction to see a former Arriva vehicle passing by where current ones are housed, even if the Midlands and London are distinctly different parts of the corporate empire.
Plus I might as well point out how beautifully well the ALX400 bodywork wears the Harpur’s livery – doesn’t it just look fantastic?
