Pewit Hall Farm

Pewit Hall Farm, Holmesfield, Derbyshire, shortly after sunrise. The Farm can be dated to the early 1800s and the farmhouse doubled as a beerhouse for a period in the second half of the 19th century when the adjacent field.accommodated a brick making enterprise with clay pits, kilns and crushing wheels run by my great great grandfather Joseph Slater. Pewits (or lapwings) were once common here, though sadly are few in number these days..
