Odense Rail Museum and Odderbane, 20 August 1984
In August and September 1984, I was in Denmark supporting a NATO exercise with other members of my Air National Guard unit.
I had weekends and every other weekday off, so I took a lot of train rides.
On 20 August, I visited the railway museum at Odense on the island of Fyn. I took a bus to Herning from Karup, were I was staying, then an MR railcar to Fredericia, were I transferred to an Inter City train to Odense. My train had MZ 1433 for power.
I don't seem to have taken many photos at the museum, but I have a guide book that shows more of the equipment. Some of the equipment indoors was just not in good spots for photography, especially with ISO 64 Kodachrome.

After the museum visit I took at train, pulled by MZ 1433 again, to Arhus. The locomotive had delivered the train I rode to Odense to the ferry at Nyborg and picked up another Jutland bound train.
At Arhus, I rode the Odderbanen, or HHJ. (For more information www.jernbanen.dk/pbaner.php?s=144 In Danish, but Chrome will translate). The line ran south from Arhus to Odder and was one of 5 private rail lines that were still in operation on Jutland in 1984. The two preserved lines I'd ridden, Bryrup-Vrads and Mariager-Handest, were portions of private lines. Since my visit, the private lines have been taken over by the local governments and the Odderbanen was closed for conversion to a light rail line in 2016.
The Odderbanen had a complete shop area in Odder and I got some photos of the equipment as well as the Ym rail cars coming and going.
Back at Arhus, an MY with what looked to be a local train was in the platform. From there I made my way back to Herning on an MR DMU before getting the bus back to Karup.
