Folsom Turn
The Folsom Turn serves customers on UP's Folsom Industrial Lead, originally the Sacramento Valley Railroad, later the SP Placerville Branch. Today the line exists for freight service from Brighton on the Fresno Sub a bit south of Sac State, and Hazel Ave, at the west end of Folsom. The line is paralleled by Regional Transit's Gold Line, which runs from the Sacramento Amtrak station to downtown Folsom.
The Folsom Turn runs Mon-Wed-Fri, serving a cement plant, lumber yards and a scrap yard. It usually has 1 or 2 EMD GP units, pretty much whatever Roseville has available for it.
I work in Rancho Cordova and sometimes will see it if I leave the office for lunch, although one morning it was early and I was late and I followed it into work for a few miles.
