Precise Coffee Dripper
I Received a summer grant to build a super precise coffee brewer. I researched coffee and coffee production and decided that in order to create good coffee, I would have to treat brewing as a chemist would treat a soluble liquid extraction. I had to factor in theories of constant measurable flow and titration to account for all variables and maximize measurability. I built the brewer using organic chemistry glassware and lab equipment for use in conjunction with my burr grinder and temperature variable gooseneck kettle. The coffee it creates has been described as the best coffee ever tasted as it has the ability to pinpoint and control every variable of the brewing process for flawless consistency. It produces delicious repeatable results by reducing agitation to the coffee bed via a flow regulator. The resulting coffee has virtually no sediment, and is never bitter as it does not over-extract.
