The rooftops of Mont Saint-Michel….

As we climbed to the abbey at the top of the rocky island, we were able to look down upon the roofs of the village. This is still my favorite memory from all of our trips. “Mont Saint-Michel is a tidal island and commune in Normandy, France, famous for its stunning medieval abbey and village built on a rocky islet, making it a UNESCO World Heritage site and major tourist attraction. It's known for its dramatic tides that can cut it off from the mainland, its unique feudal-style architecture with the abbey at the top, and its rich history as a pilgrimage site, fortress, and prison.”
