Mexico City - New Senate Building on Reforma / Naked Protests / Big Government
Replacement for the former modest Senate building near Tacuba in the Centro Historico.
Saw various demonstrations outside the site when it was under construction -- including twice daily near-naked ones by members of the Movement of the 400 Pueblos in 2008. Was at one of these demonstrations when their then current target, Secretary of Government Juan Mourino, died in an aircraft crash on 4 November 2008. This temporarily ended the protests - they resumed (fully clothed) in August 2009.
