In April 2018 over 70 scientists and managers converged at Tall Timbers Research Station and Land Conservancy near Tallahassee, Florida to collaborate on a week of highly-instrumented experimental research prescribed fires designed to increase our understanding of prescribed fire behavior, effects, modeling, smoke production and smoke movement. The event was led by the Prescribed Fire Science Consortium, a collaborative group dedicated to developing research and tools to support the use of prescribed fire. The event was also designed to foster scientist-manager collaboration to create synergy among the two communities and to build opportunities for the co-production of science.
