Shot at Dawn - At Poperinghe in Belgium

You can still see the Execution Post & Memorial to so called "Deserters" who were thought of as Cowards from the Great War (WW1) who were imprisoned at Poperinghe and then shot at dawn

Their Relatives are still fighting for an official pardon - most of these were just mere boys suffering from shellshock or people who had been seperated from their units or who had been gassed

Today they would get "Post Traumatic Stress" counselling - back then they just got executed!
