Repeating Patterns and Leading Lines
For this project I tried to find simple items that were not very obvious when simply carrying out our every day lives. For my repeating patterns picture, my subject is the ceiling to my friend's balcony area. This caught my eye whil walking outside. The sun kept hitting my face instripes due to the stripes here, and I thought it seemed like a simple pattern that I never really noticed until now. I took this around dinner time when the sun was setting. My aperture for this is 3.5 and my shutter speed is 1/30. In camera raw I brought out the exposure for this project as well as toning down the highights so as to get rid of the sun that was shining through. I also used contrast in Photoshop and color balance to make the green grass stand out.
My leading lines picture is of a bamboo plant in my house. I took this because I wanted the bamboo stalks to lead up to the buds of the plant. I used camera raw to brighten the picture with highlights and get rid of shadows in the plant. For this I used a shutter speed of 1/30 and an aperture of 3.5. I also used Photoshop to add more green in order to bring more life to the plant.
Overall, I really enjoyed this project and the creative editing used in it.
