Me-made-March29

Me-made blouse, skirt, belt and necklace.

Blouse is silk shirting with woven plaid; it's the same vintage Vogue blouse I've made... 4 times now I think. Each time I make the neck smaller, but it still feels gappy...

Skirt has been my nemesis for soooo long now. Has been reworked dozens of times, and still iffy. Vintage 50s or 60s "Panier-effect skirt" whatever that means- basically, it means, I should have made a burda Marie! In the end it has been taken in, let out, completely reshaped, waistband width doubled on a whim for no particular reason just trying to find something that looked better! In the end, lesson learned that when your waist measurement is already 2-3 sizes larger than your other measurements, probably a skirt that has huge, volume-producing tucks in the abdominal area should be avoided; no matter what you do, it's not actually going to be tremendously flattering. I would have scrapped it entirely but that I looooooooooooove this fabric. Black & tan fine wool tweed suiting with a little stretch. Yummmmm.

Necklace is an old favorite from late 90s I think. It's metal beads of various ages and countries of origin and an interesting wood piece for center that I can't even remember where I picked up, but good patina to it. Same mustard belt from previous days.

I am starting to understand why you guys all have blogs... :)

Er, and why I don't.
