Societal Distruction

This picture doesn't necessarily represent a specific memory that I have but it is a very touchy subject for me. The fact that the amount of abuse upon children, spouses, and even drugs is a big concern and issue I have. I think this picture represents my concern because this is a 7 year old girl who looks as if she has been beaten...but to contrast with this, she has a sense of "pride" in who she is according to her facial expression. I believe that this picture is very controversial but to an audience, it takes a very defensive stand point against all abuse in general.
