amber tree book blood

First let me say this... THE THOUGH, THE PLANNING, THE PRECISE PLACEMENT!!!

Okay, this project I decided to show time. Time that had passed this branch has fallen and although time has buried her she still bleeds the blood of those who have fallen.

I was inspired to do this particular transformation because I wanted to show the affect time had on my piece again but this I wanted to show a fresh wound that sits in time, never fading.

This transformation involved, baby powder, sequins, my branch, a black backdrop, bright focused lighting, and a clean piece of glass. Also let me just add in time with perfection.

Was this a breakthrough, well not in terms of concept but in terms of how I looked at my art yes. This transformation was about idea number four. It's the first time I have junked so many ideas and still went on with the show.

This transformation opened my eyes to the many ways of using my material. Do not just focus on what you think communicates but what will my audience find communicated to them when looking at this piece.

Certainly not but again not a breakthrough.

I noticed here my classmates wanted less of a direct answer and more of a view. This piece they considered too close.

When given feedback I realize I need to be less focused allow my audience to wander about my piece give them time to think. Do not force my thoughts on my audience rather leave them the ability to take the journey with me.

To the best of my ability no, I could have definitely found a more creative use for the main book part when creating this transformation.

With this transformation I could have used a thin paper and shone light through it to really capture all of the detail that my time was spent creating.

I placed a light above the 2-D piece after trying to imitate the effects of a snow storm. Also the tree is lying on it's side the blood seeping from it's wound. In the background you can see the book being overshadowed by the fallen tree.
