218 404 Landshut (5106)

Over the rooftops of Landshut - or: the last coaches of type "n" in Bavaria. There is only one train left south of the Danube river that consists of these coaches. It is a train for pupils that commutes from Monday to Friday between Mühldorf and Landshut. At the 31st of March 2017 i took this picture of regional train RB 27145 to Mühldorf hauled by 218 404. On this photo spot on the southern outskirts of Landshut you have a good view over this city and you can discover many places of interest - like the church tower of St. Martin and the Trausnitz castle. You also may discover the steam cloud of Bavaria's last nuclear power plant which will end its service in 2022. The yellow building in the foreground is the former custom office - now a restaurant. Hurry up if you want to take pictures of this train - it will soon be replaced by a set of double deck coaches.
