ÖBB 1116.159 "150 Jahre Brennerbahn" Hochfilzen (1619n)
Am 26. Dezember 2018 bespannte die 1116.159 den EC 163 zwischen Buchs SG und Graz HBF. Mit ihrer auffälligen Gestaltung erinnert die Lok an das Jubiläum 150 Jahre Brennerbahn und an die auf dieser wichtigen Alpenquerung eingesetzten Fahrzeuge. Eigentlich hatte ich mir für diesen Zug ein anderes Motiv ausgedacht, das an den kürzesten Tagen aber im Schatten liegt wie ich vor Ort feststellen musste. Daher wurde kurzfristig umdisponiert und die Bahnhofseinfahrt Hochfilzen als Standpunkt gewählt. Der Notbehelf gefällt mir im Nachhinein sogar ganz gut, die frisch verschneite Landschaft hat aber einen nicht unerheblichen Anteil daran.

With its eye-catching design, the locomotive commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Brenner railway and the vehicles used on this important Alpine crossing. Actually, I had thought up another motive for this train, which lies in the shade on the shortest days as I had to notice on site. Therefore, the plans were changed quickly and the station Hochfilzen was chosen as location. In retrospect I even like the makeshift quite well, but the freshly snow-covered landscape has a not inconsiderable part in it.
