Me.
This week's cycle is self portraiture. This means we have to take self portraits of ourselves that describes who we are..
I took many self portraits over the break, but many of them didn't represent who I was. A lot of them turned out really bad or the point of the photos were just sadness... but I'm not all that sad. I am a happy girl and I feel loved by many. So I decided to head to a more positive idea in my picture.
I was out of inspiration, my original idea failed and I needed something that will describe me so I chose this photo. I was looking for inspiration on the internet when I found a self portrait with a her own drawing behind her. It got me into thinking that I should find large board and I should just draw whatever that describes who I am! And I did, but unfortunately, I couldn't find a board bigger than the size I have here.. To solve that problem, I used photoshop and continued on from the board and down with text that continues to describe who I am.. of course, I couldn't think of that many words so some of them were very.. random. I even asked my friends to describe me and wrote them down.
The board itself consists of a rainbow, lots of text, and pictures. I thought the rainbow could show that I am happy. A rainbow is colorful representing happiness. A rainbow won't happen without rain so that describes who I am.. I had some problems in the past.. (rain) and I solved those problems when I talked to some of my friends.. (sun) and now I'm happy! (rainbow) The rainbow symbolizes the process, the happiness, and a little of my past. The rainbow also frames the photo and adds a little more color.
The words symbolizes who I am, as what I think of myself and what others think of me. The pictures I drew shows that I love art, and I drew pictures of what I love, or places I wish to go.
In this photo, I'm placed at a spot that's not covering the pictures on the board. And I'm also using the rule of thirds. To add some color, I wore a mint green top that contrasts with my brown hair and I wore cat ears. I thought they were cute and it adds something interesting. I'm also holding flowers that covers half of my face, and the flowers show that I love flowers and spring!
