Champagne Pool - Wai-O-Tapu

Wai-o-Tapu is maori and means "holy water". About 160,000 years ago, the geothermically active area was created. Sulfur fumes, hot springs, geysers and bubbling sludge mists are present here. It smells strongly of sulfur. The colors are impressive and come from different metals and minerals. The area is located on the North Island of New Zealand near Rotorura.
