Looking from the road, the view of the city of Assisi is stunning. A beautiful medieval town high on the hill, entitled to a castle like many others, but Assisi presents two basilicas, one at each end of the city. The Basilica di San Francesco is immense and dominates much of the left corner of those who look to the city. The Basilica di Santa Chiara, in the opposite side, is much simpler and humble but of similar architectonic characteristics.
