Fly Orchid (Ophrys insectifera)

Without a shadow of a doubt my (new) favourite species of flowering plant. Huge thanks for pointing out the location to Dan Trim and also the two sets of very helpful women who assisted me in finding the precise hillside where they were hidden. I was not prepared for their tiny stature (same height as early spider orchid) or their inconspicuous nature, but eventually I got my eye in and saw around 20 individual plants. And as for those flowers - cola bottles? superheroes with wings? angels? crucified teddy bears? wasps, of course, are what they are supposed to look like. And then the thunderstorm arrived, and I ran for the car. More photos to follow.
