Tip Top Beauty
If you know where kestrels hunt, they are fairly easy to spot on the horizon. They favor perching at the very top of a bare twig so you look for their shape silhouetted against the sky at the top of a tree. This tiny falcon manages to balance on the most precarious tip that looks like it would not bear their weight. Once spotted you slowly walk up, taking a shot every few steps. She is looking straight at me here.
