Hi,

I'm just a down to earth guy with artistic tastes which extend beyond my abilities.

I upgraded my equipment to a Canon EOS 400D from a compact camera, Jan 2008, although I have also just got a new Canon SX20 IS (Jan 2010) which is very good and easy to use without lugging all the SLR kit when I want to travel light.

I like exploring the countryside to see what might catch my eye to photograph. It's amazing what you can find, even when your not looking.

I'm hoping that I will be able to improve my photographic skills and vision to share with other like minded friends. Every day my life seems to be pulled deeper and deeper into photography.

Every time I look at the magnifcent work produced by others on Flickr, I seem to be even more motivated. I wish that I had, had a digital camera when I was traveling the world on cruise liners in my younger days, but of course, they hadn't been invented then, I mourn the missed opportunities to capture all of those scenes then. How I wish I had the chance to go shoot them all again now.
