Photomato may seem a little schizophrenic. And besides the fact that we may very well be, photomato is the moniker for two people - a husband and wife couple in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are both photographers who enjoy the creation and consumption of many art forms. We're learning more about this medium as a way to stretch ourselves artistically. If you want to know what's his and what's hers, here's a start. The flower shots are all hers. The illustration is all his.

For years we had a terrible Sony Powershot which mainly took pictures that were better off not being taken at all. Then in 2007 we bought our first decent camera, the Canon Digital Rebel XTi, which gave us a jolt of enthusiasm for digital photography. We also now own an XSi and a G11.

Since late 2007 we've been experimenting with the camera and trying to learn more about the technical and artistic aspects of photography.

We've gotten some cool shots along the way (as well as some mediocre ones), and we're looking forward to many more years of learning.
