How it Started

Originally from Pennsylvania, I moved to San Diego while serving 5 years in the U.S. Navy, and later ended up in Northeast Iowa. It was a trip to the Grand Canyon that sparked what would be a career in photography. Upon seeing the magnificent view, I thought to myself "I want to share this scene with everyone that can't be here themselves." A couple of weeks later I bought my first dSLR camera, and my journey in photography began.

Photography has been a powerful tool in helping me see life for its beauty. I see our workshops as a chance to help others see the beauty in life and to share it with the world. It's a thrill for me to see the excitement in someone's face when they've taken a great image.

A Spiritual Journey

For me, photography is more than just an art form. It is an extension of my inner, spiritual journey. A practice of seeing the world for more than the physical forms that surround us. To experience and feel the energy that connects us all. When I shoot, it comes from a place of feeling. Of experiencing the scene deep inside my soul.

I don't have a story to tell, a message for my viewers, or a predetermined pattern for drawing you in. Instead, I have captured a moment that has permeated my being and I attempt to transfer that energy to my audience. Not to gain acclaim or fame, but because the world is more beautiful when you learn to feel the energy of life.
