I’m a guy with a camera and a passion for the outdoors who is pursuing landscape photography full-time as of 2014. I know how to wear out a pair of hiking boots pretty well. I definitely get giddy when I see the right skies, or great autumn color change, or rolling fog, or any myriad of unique natural circumstances. I like to get into water whenever I can; I also like to climb up to the most precarious position to see at least what it looks like up there; and I can't help but wait to see if the light after the sun goes down will actually get even better. Whether it’s in the cold waters of a mountain stream, on the rugged crest of an Appalachian mountain, or standing in the rhythmic surf of a southern coastline, out “there” is where I’m at my best. Out there is where I want to be.
It's simple for me: I do it because I love it. Outside is where I'm at my best; it's always been that way. When I lay my head down at night I dream of hiking secluded trails, mountain biking wicked east-coast style technical singletrack, kayaking rivers and lakes, trail running through Appalachian forests. Everything I do otherwise is just a way to enjoy more time outside in the areas I love. Without these places and experiences I'm not whole. The camera comes with and I continue to develop in hopes of always improving; as of now, I just enjoy meeting other photographers and sharing my experiences.
My gear consists of a Nikon DD810 camera body, Nikkor 17-35 wide-angle lens, Nikkor 24-70mm medium telephoto, Nikkor 70-200mm telephoto lens, Nikkor 60mm macro lens, Really Right Stuff Tripods, Really Right Stuff L-Clips, and various other goodies.
I appreciate everyone who has made this Flickr experience very positive for me, and who continues to inspire me with their great images and insights. Feel free to drop me a line and/or to leave me some feedback (positive or negative) on the images if you feel so inclined. However, there is no need to comment just for the sake of it...if an image intrigues you into writing something, then your input would be much appreciated ;)

Mark is not only a great contact but he's also an awesome photographer. The latest series from the beach in North Carolina really sealed any reservations I might have had about leaving a glowing testimonial - His work kicks ass. Keep shooting man, you have a great eye for it.
