A Family Business, A Family Recipe

We're Shannon and Scott, co-founders of Dandelion Cheesecakes. Shannon's mom came up with a delicious and creamy cheesecake recipe when she was just 17 years old, and has been baking it for almost 50 years. We haven't found a cheesecake as smooth anywhere else. A few years ago she passed the torch along to us.

We've taken her original recipe and added a variety of gourmet flavors - favorites include Bananas Foster, Andes Mint Chocolate, White Chocolate Amaretto, and Cherries Jubilee.

What We Still Need

We've already come a long way. We've found a commercial kitchen to rent, and paid the deposit and insurance. We've taken the required food safety classes. The main thing we need now is the money to keep going so that we can get the word out about these fabulous cheesecakes.

In the future we plan to start selling cheesecakes in local farmers' markets, in restaurants, and shipping across the country. All of these things have capital outlays, and while no one thing is hugely expensive, it's just going to take more than we can currently do.

So Far...

We've been operating on a friends and family basis since just before Thanksgiving. We threw together our Facebook page on a whim, and let it run its course.

According to our tracking graph we have an average reach of 650 people - and we haven't even started selling cheesecakes to the public yet. We have a list of people all across the country who are just waiting for us to be able to ship.We have two restaurants we're in talks with who are interested in serving our cheesecake once we can commit to prices and quantities.
