I am in my 40`s and self employed. I have a lot of free time mid week and like to get out, often with friends, walking and looking for photo opportunities. I live near Swansea in South Wales, I have a car and often travel some distance before setting out with my camera. I have been using a Sony DSC W1 compact, but I have now bought a Pentax K100D, digital SLR, and am enjoying learning how to use it.
Update. Just over a year since joining Flickr, and I am loving everything about photography. My main focus has been the Welsh Flickr Cymru Group, for which I am an admin. It is a great Group, and I have made lots of new friends, many of whom I meet regularly in real life as well as on the Web.
I have just updated my camera to a Samsung GX10, and I also have a Sigma 18-50 f2.8 DC EX Macro lens, and a Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro f4-5.6

Over the past 10 mths I have seen many changes in his photography and I have found him to be a very inspiring photographer!! He has helped me to look at thing differently and helped me notice things I may have passed by before......The other thing that has impressed me is Mike's thoughtfulness to add positive comments on not only my photos but hundreds of others throughout Flickr!! I am a much better person for being introduced to him and Flickr is a much better place with his presence!! Thank you Mike for taking an interest in my photography. When I first posted to Flickr, I started to regularly get polite and helpful comments on my pictures from a man named Mike. After a while, the comments started to get a little more detailed, and his fabulous sense of humour started to shine through! Now I really look forward to reading what Mike might say about my pictures. He often has me in stitches! :) Mike has also been very generous in his advice and assitance with technical matters - and my photography has been the better for it! I really respect his opinion and his comments help me to think carefully about my work. Mike's photostream is beautiful! He has a great eye for colour and composition and the grandeur of nature. I really want to visit Wales now that I have seen his amazing images! You will not be disappointed if you take a ramble in Mike's world.
