Hi!
Thanks for stopping by to see my photo log. Knowing that people can enjoy my work makes it that much more enjoyable.
I started out in photography with a Canon Powershot G2. When the buttons ceased to work on that one, I bought a G6 which I promptly drowned in a flooded river after a caving adventure. At that point I decided to just go all the way into SLR, and am now shooting a EOS 20D (and keep it in a waterproof case)!
Here you'll find anything from 100% crops from my Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM macro lens, to extreme wide angles stitched together from multiple frames taken with the Canon EF 20mm f/2.8, and everything in between. Most of the time, the lens that lives on the camera is Canon's EF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L series lens, which I enjoy very much. Still on the wish list is a long telephoto, or maybe the 70-200mm L with a 2X adapter. That would make wildlife shots that much more enjoyable.
SInce I do a photo a day, you'll see my good days and bad. Sometimes I'm inspired by something I see and enjoy. Others I can't think of (or see) a thing, and end up drawing from the library. But, in general, what you see each day is a little photo diary of my life.
I'm a carpenter by profession, and one of those wierd photographers that realize that there ARE more important things in life, so photography often has to take the back seat, but as you can see, I fit as much of it in as possible!
I enjoy photography because it allows me to reflect a little bit of the glory of God. You can't look through the viewfinder and not see part of His creativity and handiwork. In fact, the smaller you go, the more complexity you can see, until of course, even a good camera and macro lens can't resolve it, and you're left contrasting man's creation against God's. It doesn't stack up. :-)
Hope you enjoy the tour. Leave a comment and a note. I typically will make it over to visit you.
Thanks! And, happy Flickring!
