Roadrailers!

Remember the Ice Cold Express roadrailer train from California to Chicago? The schedule made it a nice Saturday morning target on the Mendota Sub in 2002. Although the symbol changed a few times during operation, this train was a nice little shooter running across the BN side.

At 0656, BNSF B40-8 #8604 leads the Q-BCACHC 1-27 (Bell, CA to Chicago) just after meeting the V-CHCGAL at Earlville. Definately some pucker factor happening as the westbound showed up just before the eastbound and managed to get clear for the shot. The roadrailer was the 1st of 4 eastbounds on the Mendota Sub I snagged that morning within a half hour and all before Amtrak was due!
