The border police started an anti-drug operation "Nia ebo urwe in the Kuna Yala dialect, which means No to Drugs". The operation aims to prevent the area from being used as a smuggling route for drugs to enter Panama, and to protect the Kuna Yala indigenous communities from drug trafficking, according to Panama's Border Police Commissioner Frank Abrego.
