299-Charing Cross Road, Foyles bookshop 1937
Moving a little further down Charing Cross Road to Manette Street on the west side, the photographer, who is standing outside the main Foyles bookshop building, points his camera north to show another Foyles shop, vacated by them in the 1980's and now a remaindered book store. A little further on in the gloom of the evening are the arches of Goslett's builders merchants (there's a full frontal view of this building in the previous picture in this set). In the distance is the turret of the old Crosse and Blackwell warehouse and beyond, the neon lights of the Astoria Cinema.
