Mosquito

Being the winter (dry) season in Zimbabwe when we went there on holiday, the insect population was much reduced, I was told. Fortunately that includes mosquitos and resulted in me sustaining only about 8 bites. Here's a mosquito showing off his formidable drilling gear. Why do they hold their back legs up in the air like that sometimes?
