Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous

—— Albert Einstein

I shot this image in a place you can no longer go, The Rahkine region of Myanmar. I was on assignment for American Photo magazine, We were in a boat on the Irrawaddy river during Monsoon season we were hit with a burst of rain so strong that we frantically had to get to shore so we would not sink, we ran to first hut we could find where a family was huddled in the same situation we were.

I was absolutely soaked, my gear was soaked, we were all soaked. And in all of that this moment moved me, and two children took the image the image and cause my finger to press the shutter. The near death experience erased and the reason why I was there became self evident.

Art is long. Life is short. A moment of time last for ever in a photograph
