This image is from my most recent trip to Cuba.

 

 

As brutal as boxing can be its beautiful to watch as ballet. As painful to practice as ballet is is as painful it is to train to box. What I have observed whilst photographing the practice to perfection of both is the focus of excluding all things of the outside world to just that of the moment that they are in in. An almost rapture like expression is shared by both dancers and boxers.

 

 

I shot this with the 85mm f 1.2 S Nikkor lens. 1/2000 of a second ISO 450. Image raw processed in NX Studio and Photoshop CC with the NiK collection.
