Children Consultation for midterm review (MTR) in Baidoa Tufta IDP Camp in Wadajir. Through collaboration with Somali Children Welfare and Rights Watch (SCWRW) in Baidoa twenty children were identified for the consultation through a transparent and consultative process. The children were from IDP and the host community. Thirteen of the children were from the IDP Camps in Wadajir village in Baidoa and the rest were the host community. In terms of gender likewise thirteen were girls and the rest boys.
From the discussion, the following were emerging as the biggest challenges of the children in Baidoa; access to basic needs such food, clean water, shelter, drugs and substance abuse, street children, lack of enough spaces for playing, parents marrying off their daughters at tender age, lack of quality education, lack of materials for learning, parents not able to provide for them due to poverty, school fees which most of the parent cannot afford.
