Not the 2015 eclipse
No, it's not the 20 March 2015 eclipse - although it looks just like it should have done! This is an image of the new(ish) moon of 22 March with Earthlight brightening the moon's disc.
The EXIF is lying again; this was taken with a D700 and a 500mm reflex lens fed through an x2 doubler to give an equivalent of a 1000mm f/[quite a lot] lens. My tripod really isn't up to extreme zooms like this, but on the other hand I wouldn't be able to afford a 1000mm VR lens, even if Nikon made one!
The air was still so the camera was't blowing around, but it still moved. I used mirror-up mode with a release cable and waited 20 seconds or so for everything to settle down before releasing the shutter. Even then, it took several attempts to get a decent shot.
