Chef and Farmers' Summit
On February 24th, the Montgomery County Food Council partnered with the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development and the UMES Hospitality and Tourism Management program at USG to facilitate professional connections between local area chefs and farmers.
The event featured networking followed by collaboration in the kitchen to prepare lunch from locally sourced goods, and concluded with a question and answer session between UMES students and industry professionals.
By launching the #EatLocoMoCo movement, the Food Council hopes to establish long-lasting connections between local chefs, students and farmers for the benefit of the local economy in Montgomery County.
