July 1 2021 was not the best day for weather, as there were some heavy rains in both the morning and afternoon. Each time it rained, we were allowed to take refuge in one of the restoration shop buildings. I was part of a group of around 25 people who came for the "Fire Up 611 Experience". Thankfully there were breaks in the rain where we could explore around the engine without getting soaked.
Here, several members of Strasburg's restoration crew work on one of their passenger cars. The workspace that they have is pretty impressive, as it seemed to have anything and everything you'd need to perform restoration work....no matter how big or small.
