Marbled Eggs

This was yesterday's culinary experiment. Basically they're hardboiled eggs that, after they cooked some, I took and cracked with a spoon. Then I let them simmer in tea for an hour and some to finish setting and soak up some color. They're pretty cool looking, but I think I messed it up because they tasted really gross and smelled kinda bad even though the eggs were fresh.

 

Oh well! They're pretty, and I decided if you did them with cranberry tea, you could make them look like giant, horrifying eyeballs.

 

P.S. I got the recipe from the back of a mystery novel called Death By Darjeeling. Haven't read it yet.
