The blossoming tulip has been a favorite in paintings mainly because of its many different colors and varieties that open and close to beautifully unique flower structures.

fun facts:

The biological function of the tulip and other flowers is reproductive, therefore their purpose is mediating (pollinating) the male angiosperm with the female ovum (fertilization) for the formation and dispersal of seeds for the next generation of blossoms.
