Tiny Cross - _TNY_3975

When I have been out looking for peacock beetles in the sandbanks in the river in the Mjällådalen nature reserve together with my son, we have almost always also found the similarily sized Bembidion litorale.

Well, on our latest visit, Daniel also spotted this even smaller beetle which I have figure out must be a Bembidion femoratum (no English name).

The Swedish name picks up on the four yellow spots resulting in a cross-like black marking on the elytra and is "korsstrandlöpare" where kors=cross, strand=beach and löpare=runner - so say hello to the cross beach runner!
