Looking at the snout of this small weevil and hearing it is called the meadow cranesbill weevil (Zacladus geranii) might lead you to believe the "cranesbill" part is a reference to its nose. In reality, a meadow cranesbill is a beautiful purple flower with the scientific name Geranium sylvaticum which this species live on.
