Looking at this shot, you might at first think that it depicts a pair of blood red longhorn beetle (Anastrangalia sanguinolenta) mating on a common yarrow (Achillea millefolium).
And you'd be right in doing so - but on top of that, it is also a shot of a very ambitious Lasius platythorax (or possibly L. niger) ant trying to bring down a prey much too large for it to succeed on its own.
Unfortunately for the beetle couple, the ant disturbed them enough to spoil the mood and they both flew off separately.
