The comma (Polygonia c-album) have these curiously jagged wingswhich at first glance look like they are damaged, but this is the way they should look. There is also a subspecies with even deeper "cuts" in the wings, but I haven't come across one of those (yet).
In case you're wondering about the name, it's because there is a small white marking on the underside of the wings which looks look like a comma (while the Germans thought it looks like a "c" and call it the "C-falter").
