The shield bug here is a nymph of the green shield bug (Palomena prasina). But that isn't the interesting thing about this shot. Instead it is the blue clematis it is standing on. You see, straight out of the camera, it was a very reddish purple hue - but I have of course adjusted the colour in Photoshop to match the actual flower (I can actually see it in the garden from the desk where I was sitting doing the editing).
